I’m so sorry. This entry is a bit late. I was supposed to post it yesterday but I was too caught up… watching Disney cartoons. Hehehe. Twas an awesome Christmas Hibernation Day. And then I went for Christmas dinner with some friends. So… better late than never. ;)
These are four important 2013 photographs. They marked certain milestones, certain heartwarming events, points of growth, and, you know, those meaningful, defining moments in life.
Photo 1: Lunch at Ipoh. Taken at a stopover when I drove my family over to Penang.
Photo 2: Worth Having. See how happy he is? Hehehe.
Photo 3: Tanah Lot. I learned so many things in Bali.
Photo 4: Thanksgiving 2013. I can’t believe we pulled it off. Well, with God, everything is possible. Yey!
As I look at these photos, I realize I’ve been incredibly blessed this 2013, despite the many downs I fell onto along the way. But God is just so good.
A belated Merry Christmas to you all. Happy Holidays, spread the love and cheer. ;)
On the 2nd day of Christmas my true love gave to me… Two turtle doves!
We’re almost there. My house is already filled with drummers drummin, pipers piping, lords-a-leaping… But there’s still room for a few more gifts.
Like those two turtle doves. They look sweet, don’t they? Cooing and cuddling in that little corner there?
Teehee. So. What are the two new things I would like to do this coming 2013?
I would like to go on a getaway. A solitary one. I would like to take two or three days off from work, travel to a beautiful, beautiful place far, far away, disconnect from the Internet and…. Write. Draw. Make music. Be filled with wonder. Be overwhelmed by inspiration. Be taken over by imagination. That.
I would like to sing a duet. With a guy. I was singing along with Mercy Me this morning while I was driving to work an I realized that I have never really sung a love song — or any song for that matter — with a guy, i.e. just him, me, and my low alto voice. I mean, I sang backup vocals in church, I do songlead, and I did sing a duet with my female cousin during my parents’ renewal of vows. But I have never sang a duet with a guy, never sang a full song with the opposite sex in a public performance. It might be nice to try it out.
Sigh. It’s so nice to dream. Dare I make those dreams realities next year…?
I’m guessing it’s already very chilly now in La Trinidad, my hometown. The Salad Bowl must be already experiencing the perfect bonfire weather. I can almost feel the warmth of those orange-yellow flames. I can almost taste the gooey sweetness of toasted marshmallows, the juiciness of the sausages and barbecues my aunts and uncles love to grill. But since I’m not going home this December, I guess I’ll be missing out on our annual Noche Buena and Media Noche traditions. I won’t be seeing any bonfires this 2012.
I will be in Malaysia. Working on the 24th (which is a Monday) and on the 31st (also a Monday) because I have no more leaves left. Oh well. I’m not turning into Ebenezer Scrooge just because of this though.
Instead, I’m going to give out some sweet kisses and warm hugs to all of you reading this blog.
Let’s start another project/challenge now, shall we? One that will look back at the year that was. One that will look forward to the one that is to come. One that will spread warm and fuzzy feelings all around. In the span of 12 blog entries. Anyone want to sing a round of “12 Days of Christmas” with me?
